Receiving word that your organization will be subject to a payroll audit may cause a lot of anxiety for payroll professionals.  While some payroll practitioners have experienced a payroll audit, whether by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), Workers’ Compensation, Employment or Labour Standards or Provincial Ministries of Finance, there are many practitioners who do not know what to expect.  The success of any audit depends on many factors, the most important of which is preparation.  Understanding a government audit, and proactively preparing for it, can make the process much simpler.
